FASHION | HOW MUCH FAUX FUR IS TOO MUCH FAUX FUR?

I’ve mostly had the same style for years: a bit boyish with little hippie and some rock + roll. Designers I love are Rachel Comey, Lemaire, Ulla Johnson, Ganni, Comme des Garçons, Rick Owens and Dries Van Noten. I throw in some vintage, too. When I’m in Palm Springs I often thrift, especially for Levis. In Seattle and NYC I shop at Totokaelo. I fondly call this place “Toto Trouble” because it’s so tempting and it’s only a block from my office. One of my best buddies, Jill Donnelly, owns a shop called Baby & Company. It’s been a Seattle classic for over 40 years and I pop in regularly with my dog, Jack, to get shoes by Marsell, to check out lines like R13 and to just hang out with everyone working. I love Space at the downtown Seattle Nordstrom. It was created by Olivia Kim and has a highly curated collection of clothing and accessories by lesser known, emerging brands. I’m not a big online shopper but when I do on occasions it’s usually on Farfetch.

Some of my favorite things are vintage Levis, cowboy boots, leather jackets, mens blazers, t-shirts of all sorts, floral dresses and vintage sunglasses. I have no shortage of hats — they’re the quintessential accessory for me. Some of my favorites are vintage men’s hats, berets and straw hats from my travels in Mexico. I also love Faux Fur, both vintage and new. I have at least 10! My current favorite sunglasses are Drew Sunglasses by Retrosuperfuture and my favorite boots are silver Chelsea boots by The Office of Angela Scott. I have so many t-shirts. I love band t’s, the classic jersey tee by ATM, and the basic t by Alexander Wang.
