Earlier this year I began seeing an acupuncturist (who happens to be a former neurologist) because I was constantly feeling sluggish. She’s completely re-worked my diet and helped me do the unimaginable: Kick coffee. Now every morning I start my day with warm lemon water and grab an iced green tea on the way to the office — though I really need to get better about using my metal straw.

For a snack, I love the bone broth at Honey Hi in Echo Park (1620 Sunset Blvd; + 1 213 221 7810). It’s especially delicious after a midday Pilates class. I’m also pretty into Marcona truffle almonds for snacking.

When I’m writing a lot, I’ve found a ginger shot really helps get things going upstairs — I like my brain operating at an 11 at all times. You can usually find me at Lassen’s though Erewhon is also aces. Both are organic grocery stores that make all juices and smoothies on the spot. And I’m a big fan of Sun Potion Mucuna Pruriens Powder sprinkled into a smoothie or over avo toast.
